Free Mini Cow Crochet Pattern

This undeniably adorable Mini Cow Crochet Amigurumi Pattern by Nawijkicrochet on Ribblr is one I have been loving recently. I only found it about a week ago and have already made three! One yellow and one pink as pictured, and another blue mini cow that my nephew quickly snapped up for himself.

I used chenille yarn for my mini cow. I typically use an 8 ply yarn but recently started using chenille yarn more and have been loving it! For the first hour or so I struggled with every stitch. The trick I’ve learned is to size up your hook and ensure your stitches aren’t too tight. I didn’t have to worry about large holes between my stitches because the yarn was so fluffy! I’ve made a few things with chenille now, I’ll post my other creations in another blog post soon.

I mean, how cute. You have to give it a go. This mini cow is the perfect gift, and I’m sure would be a hit at a crochet market for those of you who love to add a variety of crochet items to your market stall. As you can pick whatever colour variations you like, there are endless options for creating the perfect little cutie for pretty much anyone.

As you can see in the photos below, my yellow attempt turned out a little different from my pink mini cow and I think I know why. I believe I completed the yellow mini cow using a 5mm crochet hook, but the pink one was made using a 5.5mm, or maybe even 6mm hook. I think both look fine but I do prefer the yellow one personally. Some safety eyes and little polyfill or whatever stuffing you like (tip, you can use the ends you cut off your other projects as stuffing) and there you go, the cutest cow you ever did see!

This pattern is completely free for anyone who follows Nawikjicrochet on Ribblr. They also have some other free crochet soft toy patterns, including a larger cow and a pig! I’m currently learning to write patterns myself and it’s not super easy or quick, so to be able to access patterns free of charge is incredible!
