Free & Beginner Friendly Crochet Pattern Websites
Don’t overwhelm yourself trying to find all the best beginner friendly crochet patterns online, TheCreativeLoop has it taken care of! I’ve come across so many incredible (and most importantly, free!) crochet patterns over the years and I want to let you in on all my secrets.
Below I’ve included a list of 15 of the best online resources for free and beginner friendly crochet patterns as well as my personal favourite pattern from each site.
You may have to make free accounts for some of these websites to sign up but rest assured, these are all safe and verified sites that many creatives in the crochet community thoroughly enjoy.
1. Yarnspirations:
Yarnspirations is a go-to source for free crochet patterns suitable for beginners. They provide a wide variety of projects and include clear instructions to help crafters of all skill levels create beautiful items.
There are so many awesome patterns on the Yarnspirations website but one of my favourites is the the Red Heart Granny Square Jacket! The black looks great but you can of course switch the colours out and make it your own!

2. Hobbii:
Hobbii offers a selection of beginner-friendly crochet patterns for free. Their patterns range from simple to more advanced, making it a great resource for those just starting out.
The Cecilia Wrap Top designed by Knit Gang is available to download completely free on the Hobbii website and I absolutely love it. I’m sure you will too!

Ribblr is a platform, also available as an app, that offers free crochet patterns that are perfect for beginners. With a range of designs and styles, you’ll find patterns that are both fun and easy to create! You can even add and share or sell your own patterns!
It’s hard to pick a favourite free crochet pattern on Ribblr but these Mohair Granny Square Sleeves by Neon Fuzz Studios is certainly up there. I’ve made this in other yarn types as well and it turns out super cool! Only down side is I can’t wear it out of the house without everyone hounding me about where I got it and pestering me with compliments… its overwhelming 😉 Imagine their reaction when I told them I made it and they can too with this pattern!

One pattern I loved from this website is the Verdura Bag Pattern by Kate Alinari. Who doesn’t love some green in their life!?
